Activities

Analyse temperature dependent microbial processes in lake sediments and planktonic microbial processes; among these nitrification, bacterial production, DOM decomposition and microbial community structures. Most of these studies will be carried out in experimental shallow lakes with increased temperature. Done in cooperation with DMU

Investigate if and how changes in the distribution of plants in rivers are related to climatic data. The analysis of historical data is combined with experiments on plant growth with focus on increased winter temperatures.

Investigate how weather and climate influence lake stratification patterns (physical limnology) and analyse how future climate changes may have ecological consequences for nutrient cycling and the biota. The physical lake modelling is done in cooperation with DMI.
